Granit Xhaka sustained a cut to his eye in added time in his very first Wear-Tyne derby at the weekend. Incredibly, he dreamt before the game that this would happen. He told me in an interview for the Premier League:

š£ļøāItās the first time in my career Iāve ever had a cut. But before the game, I dreamt Iād be cut and would bleed in this derby. I donāt know why!! I told my wife that this will be remembered always – this cut – first derby for me for this football club and a special win.

āItās a win that ranks very high in my career – after the game, seeing people happy and crying, I just had a feeling of, āwow, we did it!ā After so many years of the fans struggling, this is a feeling you canāt describe in words. Iām so happy to be a part of this club and this moment.ā
What a way to remember your first Wear-Tyne derby, and something that will be with @granitxhaka forever šāā¬āŖļøš“
